Pantone colour reports for Spring and Fall 2011
Filed under: FashionSpring is practically around the corner, and it’s about damn fucking time. This cold temperamental weather is becoming a pain in the ass! However with Spring, comes Spring fashion and fashion my darlings, comes in a multitude of exciting colours, and this year we’re in for a treat.
Expect to see Honeysuckle, Regatta, Coral Rose and Beeswax to be huge this season, as designers have decided to focus on the “Escapism” theme. These are soft, warm colours that are meant o evoke a sense of careless relaxation. Personally I’m loving coral rose – that colour is fierce!.
Also for those of you who like to plan ahead I have the Fall Fashion 2011 Pantone chart for your planning pleasure.
Here’s what Leatrice Eiseman (executive director of the Pantone Color Institute) had to say about them…
“Designers take a painterly approach to Fall 2011 by artfully combining bright colours with staple neutrals, reminiscent of how an artist would construct a stunning work of art. Much like a painter’s masterpiece, there is a certain romance to this season’s palette.”
I’m quite surprised that designers have gone for such a interesting and diverse colour palette. Normally Fall/Winter fashion is inundated with browns, camel, greys and black.
BORING.
So I’m glad that they’ve gone for something a little more vibrant this year! God knows in this current economic crisis, we’re going to need all the cheering up that we can get.
