Being Fat VS Being Curvy

This is a dangerous topic even for me: I stand the chance of pissing off a lot of people who I actually care about. People like my friends and family for instance. However I’d like to think that they’d know me well enough to realise, that I’m not out to be deliberately cruel to anyone. I’d also like to think that I’m not the only one who believes that being fat and being curvy are two completely different things. So I know this is a sensitive subject but I hope most of you are mature enough not to take it personally.

O.k. so here it goes…

Being fat and being curvy are two completely different fucking things

“Oh my god. I can’t believe you just said that.”

Well I fucking did. Because it’s true, and anyone who claims otherwise is a deluded fucktard.

Yes, deluded, because I genuinely believe that most fat people, don’t enjoy being fat. Given a magic transformation wand - I’m certain most people would wish to thin (or thinner than they are) as opposed to fat. It really annoys me when people claim stupid things just to ignore the painful truth. In particular I’m talking about fat women who claim their “curvy”.

Curvy!? You’re fucking round, if that’s what you mean!

I know the word “Fat” isn’t a flattering one, and maybe if they found a cuter or nicer sounding word then maybe more people would be inclined to use it. However if you are fat but pretend that you’re not, then that’s fucking sad. Personally I think that from a health point of view, being over-weight is NOT something to ignore. No, it’s something you take very fucking seriously and consciously do something about. Why?

Because it’s your fucking health we’re talking about here.

Being overweight has serious health implications. This is a fact that NO ONE can deny. I’m not saying you’ll croak and keel over immediately, all I’m saying is that it could have dangerous effects on your body, and ignoring this issue isn’t going to help anyone. Do you really want to do that to yourself? Especially when dealing with it, is so simple?

I’m not going to lecture you about diet and exercise because I’m not a specialist, and there are plenty of good sites/programmes you can look at for that sort of advice, but c’mon it’s not hard people. Eat healthy on a daily basis; Treat yourself every now and again do some form of exercise regularly and keep at it. Nothing is going to fucking change if you only do it for a week. I know it’s hard, but tough shit; life is hard.

You can only call yourself curvy if your silhouette goes out from the bust IN at the waist (and I mean IN not just a little bit, but properly) and out at the hips. You don’t have to be slim to be curvy. My friend (we’ll call her A.S) for example, is much bigger than I am (I’m a size 10) but she has fantastic enviable, hourglass figure and I consider her curvy. Now I know it feels like I have to be nice about my friends (trust me I don’t) and I know she doesn’t think she has an amazing figure, but she does.

Marilyn Monroe was (supposedly) a size 14 in her prime; she’s the epitome of curvy and I’m certain she wasn’t over weight!

However if you’re body does not go out the bust, in at the waist, out at the hips, then you are NOT CURVY. Being curvy is about having an hourglass, womanly figure, not a blob. Having a large expanse of flesh which stops at the tops of your legs does NOT count as curvy. That’s just… round. So either stop calling yourself curvy or get on a treadmill.
