Cheryl Cole
Filed under: CelebritiesFucking heaven and hell will everybody shut up about this woman!? It’s getting annoying now and the problem is I doubt it’s going to die down (although I hope that like Kate Moss, this Cheryl Cole thing is just a phase); why? Because I’m fed up of seeing her everywhere.
She’s on T.V. telling me “I’m worth it.” I know that, trust me I don’t need you to remind me; she’s crying at every sob story on the X-Factor, singing shit and offending me by wearing leopard print track suit bottoms (seriously women, WTF were the thinking!?) in her music video.
Now before you ask, no I don’t actively go looking for Cheryl Cole. I wasn’t exaggerating when I said she is EVERYWHERE: the UK has an unhealthy infatuation with her.
Yes I agree she’s pretty, but I could throw a rock and hit someone just a pretty, if not prettier. Can she sing? I don’t think so and anyone with an ear for music or a mind that hasn’t been manipulated by the mass media would agree with me. I don’t understand what people see in her…
Mind you (on second thought) I can see why people would like her; she comes from a large family, a poor background, and she went and entered a reality T.V show. Then joined a mediocre girl band, married a footballer and TA-DA suddenly she’s rich and famous.
Hmm, I can see why that makes her some kind of council estate role model: the aspiration that she symbolizes would of course seem comforting to any fame hungry person. A true; rags to riches story, everybody loves one of those. Trust me we love a good cinderella story here in the UK, especially one that we can relate to, one that seems achievable…
I can’t deny that she hasn’t done well for herself though but still, she’s not the “Nations sweetheart”. She fucking attacked someone for Christ sake! That is not “sweetheart” behaviour. Oh and please don’t get me started on the whole “fashion icon” thing, she used to dress poorly until she could afford herself a proper stylist. Trust me, we’d all look that great if we had a horde of make-up artists, hair dressers and stylists at our disposal.
Anyway, it sounds odd but I don’t hate Cheryl Cole (not seriously anyway). I’m just fed up with the public mindlessly worshipping her ass and the big companies displaying her every where. I agree, she’s pretty and she’s done well for herself. No, she didn’t deserve to get cheated on by her husband or catch malaria, that I also agree with.
However until she says something genuinely intelligent, loses her accent and stops the butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-my-mouth crap then maybe I’ll understand what all the fuss is about.
